Melanie Rachko (she/they)

Melanie (she/they) is a compassionate and experienced mental health clinician dedicated to providing trauma-informed and affirming care to individuals and families. Originally from New York City and licensed in Massachusetts, Melanie brings over 14 years of clinical experience supporting diverse, vulnerable, and marginalized communities. Her approach is grounded in the belief that healing happens in relationships built on trust, safety, and respect.

Melanie specializes in working with children, adolescents, adults, and families whose lives have been impacted by complex trauma, including interpersonal and community violence. They integrate evidence-based practices with a warm, collaborative, and culturally attuned style, meeting each client where they are and honoring their lived experiences. She is committed to helping clients build resilience, strengthen connections, and reclaim a sense of agency in their lives.

In addition to their clinical work, Melanie is recognized for her expertise in the gender-based violence field, with a particular focus on how gender-based violence intersects with race, juvenile justice, and LGBTQIA+ experiences. She has provided training, consultation, and advocacy in these areas, continuously working to expand access to quality, equitable mental health care.

Melanie holds a bachelor’s degree in Psychology from Concordia College and a master’s degree in Education from CUNY Hunter College. She believes strongly that the most effective therapeutic work is guided by the strengths and wisdom of the communities we serve. Their practice reflects this commitment by centering client voice, promoting empowerment, and creating a space where every individual feels seen, valued, and understood.
