Meet Mikayla

Mikayla McClellan, LMHC (she/her)

Clinician

Mikayla supports teens, adults, and families navigating trauma, anxiety, stress and overwhelming life experiences. Teens often reach out for therapy when they feel anxious, emotionally overwhelmed, or unsure how to cope with experiences that others may not fully understand. Therapy with teens works best when young people feel respected and included in the process, and Mikayla creates a space where adolescents feel heard, supported, and able to build practical skills to manage emotions and stress. Parents remain an important part of the process, and Mikayla works with families to support communication and help everyone feel more confident navigating challenges together.

People often reach out for therapy when anxiety, emotional exhaustion, or difficult past experiences begin to feel overwhelming. Teens may feel stuck in cycles of stress or emotional intensity, while adults sometimes find themselves burnt out from carrying responsibilities for work, family, or caregiving. Therapy can be a place to slow down, understand what’s happening beneath the surface, and begin learning tools that help life feel more manageable.

For adults, the realization often comes after pushing through stress and responsibilities for a long time. Managing work, family, and caregiving demands can lead to burnout, emotional exhaustion, and a sense of disconnection from yourself. Therapy offers space to process what you’ve been carrying, reconnect with your needs, and rebuild a sense of stability and balance.

Mikayla received her MS in Mental Health Counseling from Suffolk University and has experience providing individual and group therapy for teens, adults, and families across a range of clinical and community-based settings. She has also worked with individuals navigating chronic pain and religious trauma, experiences that can bring complex feelings of grief, identity shifts, and isolation.
